Dr Al-Shaibani Wifaq

Dr Al-Shaibani Wifaq has been following for my daughter for the last two years now. She is very exceptional! Smart, knowledgeable,and very much curious about the future of our kids! Very attentive to parents and tries to understand the kids well ahead of you.

We were referred to Dr. Al-Shaibani by our family doctor to look into Inattentive ADHD for my 12 year old son. Dr. Al-Shaibani was fantastic. She reviewed the rating scales we had complete (parents and teachers) and, after learning I used to be an educational psychologist and have tried other strategies, decided it was time for us to try a medical intervention.

She spoke directly to my son about the medications and his options. She gave us her three top choices, explained the side effects, and showed him the size of the actual pills. Then, she gave him a very thorough physical examination and showed genuine interest in him by asking him questions about himself. After finding out he is very athletic, she reviewed, once again, the side effects and stressed that appetite suppression could be an issue and told him he would need to eat even if he didn't feel hungry.

I was very impressed with how she included my son in the process and the way she is introducing the medication - low dose, then a bit higher, and if needed, we'll go higher. Her aim is to keep side effects to a minimum until we find the right dose for him.

Dr. Al-Shaibani has a very nice approach, is very personable and clearly enjoys her work. She spent a half-hour with us and ensured all of our questions and concerns were addressed. I feel my son's care is in very competent hands and am glad she is his pediatrician.
